Welcome Back Princeton University Students

This post was co-written with Lucia Scotto.

Autumn is the season that the Nassau Inn staff looks forward to the most.  The trees along Palmer Square and Nassau Street begin to burst with vibrant colors and the streets awaken, filled with the hustle and bustle of Princeton University students, parents, and professors.  The Nassau Inn has the great fortune of bearing witness as a host for all, from near or far.

View of Nassau Inn From Palmer Square

Nothing can replicate the energy that derives from this annual migration into Princeton.  Every spring we say goodbye to one and in the fall hello to another, always keeping the town’s spirit renewed and the memories of yesterday’s guests close.

The Yankee Doodle Tap Room becomes the hub of sociability, bringing together students, locals, and hotel guests providing the perfect venue for the forging of lifetime friendships and bonds.

The lobby of our Inn is always buzzing as it serves as the gateway to everything Princeton and the Nassau Inn has to offer. Whether it’s a bride and groom organizing their last minute wedding details, guests checking in, or friends planning their next excursion, we will certainly greet you with a warm smile as you re-energize this town (and our staff). We are thrilled and honored you have chosen to be a part of the rich history of the Nassau Inn.

So whether you’re here to say hello, goodbye, or meet up with friends, the Historic Nassau Inn would like to say, “Welcome back and see you again soon.”

Tweeting Your Way Through the Red Door

As social media is taking the world by storm, the Nassau Inn has jumped on the bandwagon. You can find us everywhere from Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter and right here up close and personal with our blog!

The devices we live by!

With Blackberries, iPhones and Droids at our fingertips (literally), we are constantly connected. Smart phones are making social networking fast and easy. With this technology we have been able to interact with our Princeton friends and loyal followers through Facebook and Twitter on a daily basis; without them even having to turn on their computers!

These “followers” as Facebook and Twitter have come to reference users, can keep up with daily postings and events within their chosen friends, families and businesses. The social media team at the Nassau Inn keeps our friends and followers up to date with lunch and dinner specials, musings from the team, pictures, promotions and even games!

Team Nassau Inn

The historic Nassau Inn would like to welcome our newest  members of the Food and Beverage Management Team, Greg Newman and Carter Smith.

Greg Newman

Greg got his start in the field of hospitality while in college. While attending East Stroudsburg University, he was highly involved with the Campus Activities Board, planning numerous events for the students on campus. His interests lead him into a career in event management, where he worked as a stadium operations manager, a park ranger, an event coordinator, and dining services manager. Greg’s favorite part of hospitality is seeing the favorable expressions on his clients’ faces when an event goes well. Recently, Greg had the opportunity to be on the receiving end of his own line of work, when he married his fiancé of 5 years! The wedding was exactly what they were looking for. Greg is a beer fanatic; he would say he is an expert. Greg has recently posted, Beers with Newman, featured here on our blog. Continue reading
